Museo Storico Topografico "Firenze com'era" - Firenze in Toscana

 

Il museo, che ha sede dal 1956 nell’ex Convento delle Oblate, comprende attualmente piante, dipinti, incisioni o stampe che documentano la storia e l’aspetto di Firenze dalle origini fino al periodo in cui fu capitale d’Italia. Tra i primi e più importanti documenti è la pianta detta "della Catena", perfetta riproduzione ottocentesca dell’originale di fine Quattrocento, attualmente conservata al Friedrich Museum di Berlino. Una bella serie di olii e tempere raffigurano avvenimenti storici e scene di costume per lo più relativi ai secoli XVIII e XIX. Tra le vedute più famose segnaliamo le grandi lunette di Giusto Utens (1599), che rappresentano le più importanti ville medicee,
oltre alla notissima serie di acqueforti di Giuseppe Zocchi (1744), dedicate alle chiese, ai palazzi, alle ville fiorentine; altrettanto pregevoli sono infine le incisioni di Telemaco Signorini (1835-1901).

 

Una sezione del museo è dedicata a Giuseppe Poggi (1811-1901), architetto e urbanista fiorentino di cui sono esposti disegni autografi e progetti di ampliamento e di trasformazione della città che furono di fatto realizzati dal 1865 in poi.
