The Chianti area, between Florence and Siena, is one of the most beautiful countryside's in Italy and a famous wine production area.

Museo Archeologico e della Ceramica - Firenze in Toscana
Il Museo è stato inaugurato nella sua configurazione attuale nel 1989 e si articola su due grandi partizioni tematiche: l’archeologia del territorio e la storia della ceramica di Montelupo. La prima sezione è preceduta da un’esposizione didattica nella quale vengono evidenziate le trasformazioni ambientali di quest’area del Medio Valdarno Fiorentino e vengono presentati i risultati di oltre un ventennio di scavi e ricerche topografiche, a seguito dei quali si è venuta formando a Montelupo una delle più importanti collezioni di Preistoria dell’intera Toscana, ma anche una vasta documentazione dei molti siti protostorici, etruschi e romani.
Nei due piani superiori il museo conserva invece le testimonianze di scavo relative alla produzione della ceramica in Montelupo fin dalle origini (tardo XIII secolo): l’esposizione, preceduta da una sezione introduttiva sulla tecnologia e sulle trasformazioni tipologiche della ceramica medievale e moderna, inizia con le prime produzioni in maiolic ...
